Our Approach to Quality System DevelopmentWe approach the quality system so that everyone is considered an owner of his/her piece of the puzzle. Pride of ownership becomes apparent when developing procedures. However, we have developed a good understanding of the balance between training and the right amount of detail in procedures. Excessive detail will not add value and will tend to discourage personnel from using the procedures. Companies find that their own management system becomes easier to define as they move through the certification process. The quality system helps to define key components of an organization and gives direction to the organization for applying manufacturing-based requirements. We are experts at developing quality systems for companies large or small who may have a complete or little or no quality organization. Our gap assessment will ascertain the organization's quality system weaknesses. We can train the existing workforce in quality methods as part of their ongoing functional responsibilities for compliance to the verification and maintenance requirements of the ISO, AS and QS standards. We develop a system based around a company's current practices rather than the requirements of the standard; keep the system lean, effective and value added; and keep the company's processes responsive from a sales perspective. Once the system is process mapped to the standard elements, we determine what elements are applicable and how we could structure the content and number of procedures based upon the existing business processes. Standard operating procedures and work instructions when applicable are kept short and concise to ensure that they are understood and utilized by all employees. During this procedure development we focus on improving processes, communication, and record keeping, a critical area in achieving registration.
